Dropin Hood darts are tremendously easy to toss. The darts should be tossed in an upward, forward motion. A harder ground surface requires a higher toss of the darts. A low straight, forward toss will likely glide across the playing field. A straight up toss will likely land on your head. This should be avoided as such tosses will not result in any points. The following underhanded toss technique is recommended. | Short and very precise throws - Approx. 3 – 12 metres.
- Let the tip point upward and the tail downward.
- Utilize especially your elbow and wrist.
| | All-round toss Approx. 8 – 25 metres. Hold the shaft. Grips closer to the tail result in longer throws. Utilize especially your shoulder, elbow and wrist.
| | Long and very long throws - Approx. 15 – 50 metres.
- Hold the tail.
- Let your arm swing gently back and forth.
- Let the dart swing like a pendulum in tact with your arm and a “tight” tail.
- Utilize especially your shoulder and your entire body.
